About the project

Futura Sciences, based in France, is an extensive online resource for all things science, and more. Code + Theory London (and in-turn I as freelance design lead) were tasked with the full redesign, starting with UX. The new multilingual website visualized complex site architecture, immersing users in rich media, photography and writing, across all pages of the site and directly within the navigational ‘mega menu’. As a bonus, the logo was refreshed.

I worked hands-on as freelance digital design lead to design and oversee another designer. Together we created a fully responsive website design. Additionally we specified typography, color usage and bespoke labelling and iconography across the website's sections. The brief included a bespoke ‘live feed’ design and also required incorporating ad placement across all pages.

This project was unique to Code + Theory in that they did not take on the development aspect and in this case the designs were handed over and built by the FuturaSciences team. The build took the better part of one year.
